Mark Abis is a hugely talented English singer songwriter whose songs range in style from folk to blues, incorporating elements from American country and world rhythms.

His first album, 'Changing Inside', was recorded with Adele's producer Eg White and enjoyed some sync success with songs placed in a variety of British and American television including Buffy The Vampire Slayer, Eli Stone and Brothers And Sisters.

From tender ballads to foot-stomping anthems, Mark’s talent first caught the attention of Carthage Music partner Joe Boyd (Pink Floyd, Nick Drake) several years ago. "His melodies are original, his vocals warm and distinctive, a real musical sensibility is obvious, with literary lyrics to boot. My vote for one of the best of the new generation," said Joe.

Despite critical acclaim and recognition by prominent names within the industry, Mark Abis is still relatively unknown. The new album 'China Ship' is Mark’s chance to remedy this. The songs are beautifully crafted and impeccably produced by David Watson, with contributions from the Neil Cowley Trio and Beth Rowley.

Carthage Music administers copyrights for Mark Abis worldwide.
